Take a Hike Round 2: Madonna!

While local purists call it Cerro San Luis, we know it as “that mountain with the M on it that we drive by everyday.” Well not anymore! With the second bi-weekly Friday afternoon hike, the 20|20 crew braved the harsh SLO County elements once again (it was actually pretty darn hot) and set off into the great unknown! We arrived at the summit, snapped photos, and promptly returned to street level for some much-loved frozen yogurt; but not before enjoying an afternoon of fun times and easy conversation.

Life is good.

Take a Hike

Spring is here! Spring is here!

Okay, we have to admit that Winter pretty much passed us by this year. But that doesn’t mean we can’t still celebrate the arrival of Spring! That’s why last Friday, the 20|20 team put down the papers, turned away from the screens, and stepped out into the sunshine.

In lieu of lunch, we checked out of the office for a couple of hours to explore the natural beauty of our area and take in the fresh coastal air. Of course we couldn’t help snapping some photos of the antics that ensued. From cave exploring, to impromptu geocaching, to swinging from the trees, the outing quickly became a way for us to enjoy the day and grow as a team. It was the perfect ending to another wonderful week as a group of people living, working and playing in San Luis Obispo. We are a lucky bunch indeed.

20|20 Nabs Some ADDYS

Last week we were honored to learn that, in addition to serving our clients, some of the work we’ve done over the past year has been recognized and awarded by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). Each year, the Santa Barbara chapter of the AAF holds the ADDY Awards to recognize the top regional advertising campaigns and individual pieces of work across various digital and print media channels.

This year 20|20 is honored to bring home an ADDY for our own website redesign, as well as ADDYs for the ongoing Pacific Eye campaign, Promega‘s corporate responsibility posters, and Bazomb‘s logo.

We want to thank Santa Barbara AAF for their work in compiling and reviewing the advertising work throughout the region. Most of all, we want to thank all of our clients for believing in us and working with us to create truly great marketing and advertising.

Thank you all.

RRM Design Group launches new website

RRM Website

For the past few months, we’ve had the amazing opportunity to work with one of the top architectural design firms on the West Coast. As a multi-disciplined group with focus areas in Architecture, Planning, Landscape Architecture, Engineering & Surveying, and Sustainable Services, RRM’s process and capabilities provide a unique and powerful solution for its clients.

RRM Came to 20|20 to help them create a new website that accurately reflects the company, its people, its culture, and its work. 20|20 is proud to announce the launch of that website, and would like to thank everyone at RRM Design Group for the wonderful experience. It’s been such a fun and rewarding project.

Thank you.

20|20′s Lynne & Alec Attend Leadership SLO Class XX Reunion

This Sunday, the San Luis Obispo Botanical Gardens were teeming with local business and community leaders from across San Luis Obispo County. New graduates and past alumni gathered to honor Leadership SLO, its graduates, and its past directors. The program – aiming to cultivate strong and cohesive leadership, involvement and investment in the future of San Luis Obispo County – reached its 20 year hallmark this October.

20|20 founder Lynne Biddinger, a graduate of Class XIV, attended the reunion banquet along with 20|20 President & Creative Director Alec Ramsey, a graduate (as of Friday) of Class XX. Their attendance marked a celebration of 20|20′s commitment to the San Luis Obispo community as well as a dedication to never-ending learning and growth. Thank you Lynne and Alec for setting the bar high and providing inspiration for the rest of us!

Here’s a bit of KSBY coverage of the event.

SLOtheStigma Inspires Student Documentary

slothestigma

We are very proud the work we’ve done on Transitions Mental Health Association’s (TMHA) SLOtheStigma campaign. And thanks to the folks at TMHA, the campaign continues to impact lives on a daily basis.

That’s why were so excited to share with you the creation of a new, independent documentary created by college students, for college students. This film, inspired by SLOtheStigma and a result of the hard efforts of Cal Poly Week of Welcome leaders – Week of Welcome is Cal Poly’s freshman orientation program – sheds much-needed light on mental health in the collegiate environment.

It has long been known that college students throughout the country suffer from various forms of mental illness, stimulated by factors unique to this age group and social demographic. This documentary speaks directly to those people and the challenges they face, offering support in much the same way SLOtheStigma provides help to the community in general.

The documentary will be screened Thursday, September 8, from 3pm to 5pm in Spanos Theater at Cal Poly State University. In the recent words of TMHA, “Please come out to view the film and support the extraordinary work that these students have put together and please pass along this opportunity to anyone who you think might be interested.”

20|20 Founder quoted in U.S. Airways Magazine’s SLO County Feature!

U.S. Airways Magazine

Our very own fearless leader, Lynne Biddinger was approached this Spring by U.S. Airways Magazine, in search of her take on what makes San Luis Obispo County such an amazing place to live and work. We like what she had to say, and we’re pretty sure you will too…

An excerpt from the April 2011 U.S. Airways Magazine reads “…perhaps SLO’s greatest asset is its residents. Nearly a quarter of adults work for themselves, and one-third volunteer in some form. These can-do, get-involved artistic types lure like-minded people such as Lynne Biddinger, founder of 20|20 Creative Group, a brand marketing firm. Biddinger wanted to abandon big-city life, so she conducted a nationwide search of possible places to move. SLO won hands down. ‘I absolutely loved the sense of community in San Luis Obispo,’ Biddinger says. ‘The people here have a certain mind-set — they tend to be open-minded, down-to-earth, welcoming.
